There’s no question that our region has the expertise to solve its water challenges, both in delivering water services and in fostering integrated water resources management. Where we must do better is in knowledge sharing and in developing the capacity to produce results at the local level. For that, we need knowledge networks that connect people to feasible solutions and help them adapt those solutions to their local conditions.

Welcome to the Regional Network of Water Knowledge Hubs!

KnowledgeHubs is the APWF’s network of regional water knowledge hubs. KnowledgeHubs was launched on 26 June 2008 at PUB Singapore's WaterHub (see program and the photo-report) during Singapore International Water Week. Each hub is a center of excellence committed to improving water security in the Asia-Pacific region by promoting knowledge sharing and championing feasible solutions for its priority water topic. Together, the hubs collaborate to generate and share knowledge and develop capacity in more than a dozen water knowledge domains.

Brisbane, Australia, 4-7 November 2009, Regional Launch Workshop of IWC as Knowledge Hub for Healthy Rivers and Aquatic Ecosystems

The International WaterCentre (IWC), in collaboration with ADB, is organizing a regional launch workshop of the IWC on 4-7 November 2009 in Brisbane, Australia. The event will launch IWC as the knowledge hub for healthy rivers and aquatic ecosystems and will provide an excellent opportunity for prospective clients of the hub to share lessons learned and challenges on river health assessment and improvement, as well as expectations for the knowledge and capacity development services to be offered by IWC. Regional and national partners, including other knowledge hubs, and prospective clients are invited to attend the launch workshop and to advise on IWC's operation, networking, scope of services, and delivery of useful services.

Marina Barrage, Singapore, 26 June 2009, APWF Governing Council Endorses 4 Additional Hubs

The APWF's Governing Council has endorsed 4 new APWF Regional Water KnowledgeHubs during its 5th Governing Council meeting held on 26 June 2009 at the Marina Barrage in Singapore.
